Pre-Operative Testing & Medical Clearance

Complete pre-op exams and lab work to help keep your surgery on schedule

Pre-op Overview

Before surgery, your provider may require pre-operative testing to confirm you’re medically ready for the procedure.

Our pre-op services provide accurate, timely lab work and screenings required by surgeons, hospitals, and surgical centers.

We work closely with your care team to ensure results are delivered promptly and correctly.

What Is Pre-Operative Testing?

Pre-operative testing, often called “pre-op clearance,” is a set of medical evaluations completed before surgery.

These tests help identify potential risks and ensure it is safe for you to proceed with anesthesia and surgery.

Your surgeon or anesthesiologist will determine which tests are required based on your procedure and medical history.

Common Pre-Op Tests We Provide

Urinalysis

A urinalysis checks for infection, kidney function, and other conditions that could affect surgery or recovery. This test helps identify issues that may need treatment before your procedure.

Vital signs and basic health screening

Vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and oxygen levels are measured to assess baseline health and identify potential concerns prior to surgery.

Blood work

CBC, CMP, BMP, PT/INR, A1C, and other ordered labs

Blood tests help evaluate overall health, organ function, blood counts, clotting ability, and potential surgical risks.

COVID or infectious disease testing

Certain procedures or facilities may require infectious disease screening prior to surgery. These tests help protect patients, surgical staff, and healthcare teams.

Pregnancy testing

Pregnancy testing is performed for patients of childbearing age when required by the surgeon or surgical facility. This ensures patient safety before anesthesia or surgical intervention.

Medical clearance documentation

We ensure required testing results and documentation are compiled and sent to your surgeon or surgical center to support medical clearance and prevent procedural delays.
